John McCain’s Totally Awesome Week
Mother Jones’ Kevin Drum sums the past few days up nicely:
(a) Politico reports that La Palin has spent $150,000 on campaign outfits, (b) John McCain’s brother calls 911 to complain about a traffic jam and then curses at the operator for telling him to get off the line, (c) the New York Timesreports that Palin also spent $30,000 or so on hair and makeup over a period of two weeks, and (d) a white woman who claimed she was attacked by a black Obama supporter admits that the whole thing was a hoax.
Also, the McCain campaign paid off a guy accused of voter registration fraud, was endorsed by al-Qaeda, discovered that Sarah Palin doesn’t know the Constitution, and pissed off Virginians.
Oh, and McCain’s polling numbers really suck.
It’s going to be an exciting week and a half.
Update: Reagan’s Solicitor General and (now former) McCain adviser Charles Fried voted for Obama.
Update 2: Turns out the McCain campaign was pushing the “white Republican girl assaulted by scary black Democrat man” story–before it turned out the proud McCain volunteer was making the whole thing up in a ludicrous attempt to turn Pennsylvania red. Natually, the whole thing is the fault of the liberal media.
