Palin/Lulz 2012
- Control of the New York Senate switched from the Democrats to the Republicans thanks to two of the state’s most awesome Democratic Senators: one is under investigation by the state attorney general’s office, and the other was recently indicted for felony battery and domestic abuse charges. Sounds like a winning team! (New York Times)
- The national census is coming up in under a year and Senate Republicans have blocked President Obama’s nominee to head the census bureau because, um, “It is unclear why Republicans are blocking the vote. A McConnell spokeswoman, Jennifer Morris, said she had no information on the delay.” That’s cool, guys. I mean, it’s not like the census is in the Constitution or anything. (Wall Street Journal)
- So Newt Gingrich raised all this money and gave a big speech for the GOP’s House and Senate campaigns, but who cares because Sarah Palin showed up! This is after Palin’s office declined to speak at the fundraiser because they didn’t want her to be “overexposed,” and then announced that she would not be attending at all because she was not the speaker, and then she just cold crashed the party anyway because MAVERICK, amirite? (CNN)
- Sen. Mary Landrieu signed Sonia Sotomayor’s cast after Sotomayor broke her leg doing… racism? I dunno. Anyway, the point is that Mary Landrieu has empathy (sympathy? They’re both bad.) for Sotomayor and should therefore be removed from office. (CNN)
