Please Pick Rudy
With the selection of Joe Biden has Obama’s running mate confirmed, I’m begging John McCain to pick Rudy Giuliani as his running mate. Why? Because the Vice Presidential Debate is at my school in October and I would love to see and hour of this:
Giuliani’s Latest Endorsement
The latest New York notable to endorse Rudy Giuliani’s soon-to-be failed run for the presidency is… wait for it… Johnny Damon. Yeah, that Johnny Damon. I guess Johnny must have forgotten about this:

Traitors stick together, I suppose. Now Rudy can lose the New York vote and the Boston vote. Great double play!
The latest goes pretty well with Rudy’s previous endorsement from Pat Robertson. Pat loves Jesus, and Johnny sorta used to look like Jesus…

Rudy Finally Does It: Includes 9/11 Footage in Ad
We all knew it was going to happen eventually. Ever since he entered the presidential race, Rudy has built his entire campaign on September 11. Joe Biden said it best:
Rudy Giuliani. There’s only three things he mentions in a sentence — a noun, a verb, and 9/11. There’s nothing else! There’s nothing else!
But it hasn’t been working. In Michigan’s Republican primary, Rudy only picked up 3% of the votes–he got half as many votes as Ron Paul! So Rudy’s ad team whipped up this last-ditch effort to save the Giuliani candidacy, using actual footage from the 9/11 attacks. And as we watch buildings collapsing, killing hundreds, and innocent people fleeing, we hear:
When the world wavered, and history hesitated, Rudy never did.
“All these people ran away from Ground Zero, but Rudy didn’t. Fire crews and EMS waited around trying to work their broken radios, but Rudy was there for the photo op.”
Truly sickening. Up until this point, Rudy only verbally exploited the tragedy of 9/11 for his own political gain. Now, he’s reminding you to vote for him over footage of people dying in the World Trade Center. This disgusting caricature of a man can should be locked up, not put in the White House.

Rudy Will Chase Muslims “Back to Their Caves”
If you are afraid of people whose skin is darker than yours, then Rudy Giuliani is the man for you! Why is that? Just ask John Deady, the co-chair of the New Hampshire Vets for Rudy:
[He has] the knowledge and judgment to attack one of the most difficult problems in current history. And that is the rise of the Muslims…And we need to keep the feet to the fire and keep pressing these people ‘til we defeat them or chase them back to their caves, or in other words, get rid of them.
And then we wonder why Muslims don’t like us. Could it have something to do with our new mantra that all Muslims are bad people? You can watch this clip below (courtesy of TPM), and The Guardian has a longer video with more bigotry and some interesting comments from Rudy’s biographer.

Kerik Using Rudy for Defense
We already know that Rudy Giuliani won’t say whether or not he’ll pardon Bernie Kerik. That’s an understandable move on Rudy’s part. There are plenty of people who think Kerik is a saint and would like to see him pardoned. On the other hand, a pardon would beg the question of whether Mayor Giuliani was involved in any of the things Kerik is alleged to have done, and that’s the last thing any presidential candidate wants. So Giuliani has decided to wait and see.
Well, unfortunately for Rudy, Bernie Kerik isn’t going to wait for him.
Kerik has already launched the website for his legal defense fund, and guess whose mug is prominently featured on the “About Bernard B. Kerik” page?

Oops. And then Kerik goes on to tout his sterling record of service to Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani and the great city of New York.
Whether he likes it or not, it looks like Rudy Giuliani is in this one for the long haul.
Biden is Right About Rudy
At last night’s Democratic Debate, Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) had some interesting insights on GOP frontrunner (?) Rudy Giuliani:
And the irony is, Rudy Giuliani, probably the most underqualified man since George Bush to seek the presidency, is here talking about any of the people here. Rudy Giuliani… I mean, think about it! Rudy Giuliani. There’s only three things he mentions in a sentence — a noun, a verb, and 9/11. There’s nothing else! There’s nothing else! And I mean this sincerely. He’s genuinely not qualified to be president.
I know, it sounds like a ridiculous accusation, like something you might find in the Onion. But here’s the crazy thing: Biden is right about Rudy.
WHY DID YOU FLIP ON GUN CONTROL?
“There are some major intervening events - Sept. 11 - which cast somewhat of a different light on the Second Amendment.”
- Giuliani’s September speech to the NRA
WHY DID YOU INTERRUPT THAT SPEECH TO TAKE A CALL FROM JUDI?
“Since Sept. 11, most of the time when we get on a plane we talk to each other and just reaffirm the fact that we love each other”
- September interview with CBN News
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF BUILDING A FENCE ON THE BORDER?
“I support security at the borders. I think security is enormously important in the post-Sept. 11 period. I think we have to know who’s coming into this country.”
- February interview with Fox News
WHAT’S WITH THAT FLAG ON YOUR LAPEL?
“Each time I wear it, it reminds me of Sept. 11.”
- July rally in Wilmington, Del.
SHOULD THERE BE FEDERAL FUNDING FOR AIDS DRUGS?
“I don’t want to promise you the federal government will take over the role. My general experience has been that the federal government works best when it helps and assists and encourages and sets guidelines on a state-by-state, locality-by-locality basis. It’s no different from the way I look at homeland security. Maybe having been mayor of the city, I know that your first defense against terrorist attack is that local police station, or that local firehouse.”
- July rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
ARE YOU RELIGIOUS?
“I need God’s help for everything, and I probably feel that the most when I’m in crisis and under pressure, like Sept. 11, when I was dealing with prostate cancer, or when I’m trying to explain death to people.”
- September interview with CBN News.
HOW ABOUT THOSE DEMOCRATS?
“They do not seem to get the fact that there are people - terrorists in this world, really dangerous people - that want to come here and kill us. That in fact they did come here and kill us.”
- May interview with Fox News
SO, UM, WHAT ABOUT YOUR MESSY PERSONAL LIFE?
“You can judge me on my public record. I’ve had a long one. I’ve had an intense one. I’ve been under enormous pressure, took over a city that was the crime capital of America, had to handle the city at the very end, when it was part of the worst attack on America.”
- May interview with Fox News
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZT WRONG!
$9.11 was the answer a couple of Giuliani volunteers in California came up with as a suggested contribution for a fund- raising party. Giuliani said, “I think they made a mistake.”
So there you have it. No matter what he’s talking about–guns, speech interruptions, border control, flag pins, AIDS, religion, Democrats, or his personal life–the answer for Rudy Giuliani is always 9/11. Joe Biden hits the nail on the head: is someone with, quite literally, one platform qualified to be President of the United States?
