The final class project was a challenging one. We were randomly paired up and given 48 hours to produce four portraits of our partner and four self-portraits. My partner and I immediately rushed to the lighting studio. For my portraits of her, I wanted to show her doing ordinary, natural things–walking down the street, reading, and the like–in the very unnatural, forced setting of the lighting studio. I did my self-portraits later that night, and modified my original idea to have my self doing mundane things in the wrong places. You’ll see what I mean when you look at the photos.
