Roland Burris, Senator-for-Life
- Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan will not run against America’s Senator™ Roland Burris. She will also not run for governor, because being Governor of Illinois is like asking for an indictment. (MSNBC)

- Illinoisians, this “Pat Quinn” character is your new Governor! You can tell how different he is from Blago because he is bald. Change We Can Believe In! (CNN)
- So after John McCain failed to win them the presidency, the RNC filed a lawsuit to overturn McCain’s favorite law, the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act aka McCain-Feingold. Now the DNC has joined the lawsuit… in defense of the act! Thank God for bipartisanship. (MOAR CNN!)

The Illinois Senate unanimously voted to expel embattled Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) from office.
That means Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn (D) becomes the state’s new governor.
Update: Also,
Moments after removing him from office, the Illinois senate voted unanimously to prevent impeached Gov. Rod Blagojevich from ever holding political office in the state again.
Because Blago is exactly the kind of person who would try and run again.
