Obama/Gates/Crowley Make MADD Angry

- The Delaware chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving is not mad, but they are very disappointed in Barack Obama, Skip Gates, and James Crowley for consuming “adult” beverages. (We won’t name them, for fear of scarring the children). (WDEL)
- The new owners of the Waco Tribune-Herald hope that by printing “In God we trust” on the front of every edition they will be rewarded for deciding that now would be an excellent time to get into the print media business. (Citydesk)
- Thomas Jefferson™ is a registered trademark of the Associated Press, but his words can be reprinted… for a price. (Laboratorium via Hit & Run)
- Every time Robert Gibbs says, “the President will not increase taxes on the middle class,” someone from your professional media asks, “But will he increase taxes on the middle class?” And that is why no one is buying their newspapers anymore. (CNN)

Quote of the Day
When he’s not arresting you, Sergeant Crowley is a really likable guy.
– Henry Louis Gates, Jr., after sitting down with Sergeant James Crowley, President Obama, and Vice President Biden for a couple beers last night.

Friendly “Beer Summit” Maybe Not So Friendly After All
The big story of today, obviously, is tonight’s Obama/Gates/Crowley “beer summit” to sort out racial differences. According to most of today’s reports, it sounded like the three guys were just gonna kick back, have a couple brews, and maybe talk baseball. But Sergeant Crowley seems to have different expectations for tonight’s meeting:
A union official and attorney will accompany Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley to tomorrow’s “beer summit” with President Obama and Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr.
Crowley will be joined at the White House by Dennis O’Connor, president of the Cambridge Police Superior Officers Association, and Alan McDonald, the attorney for the Cambridge Police Superior Officers Association, the Cambridge Police Patrol Officers Association and the Massachusetts Municipal Police Coalition.
What does Sgt. Crowley expect to happen tonight that he feels the need to bring in the big guns?

Now You Know Why That Burger Tasted Kinda Dirty

- Ew. More than half of foodworkers surveyed admitted to the FDA that they don’t wash their hands before handling food. I wonder how we all got the swine flu? (Quad City Times via CityDesk)
- Hillary Clinton was poor (like the rest of us) after losing to Barack Obama, but now she has millions of dollars again! (NY Daily News)
- Former Rep. Tom Davis (R-Fake VA) also says that the southerners are ruining the GOP. Wonder if David Vitter will teach him about values too? (Political Wire)
- While there may be some debate over whether Sgt. James Crowley acted racistly when he arrested Henry Louis Gates Jr., the Boston cop and National Guard commander who called Gates a “jungle monkey” is definitely racist. (ABC News)
- According to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), it is racist for Democrats to nominate a minority to the Supreme Court and then point out that most Republicans voted against her. (TPMDC)

Barack Obama’s Racial Tolerance Drinking Game

Well, the day we have all been waiting for is finally here, the First Annual White House Racial Understanding Beer Pong Tournament! (Yes, annual. You didn’t think racism could be solved that easily, did you?) Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and Sergeant James Crowley will join President Obama to knock back a couple brews and then end racism forever… or at least until the next racist wingnut email is published.
Good luck, gentlemen!
Update: Ugh, nevermind. Your Obama has already ruined everything with his highly controversial decision to let everyone drink whatever beer they felt like. Fine, except he has chosen to drink Bud Light, a beer owned by our greatest enemy (Belgium), and now racism will continue forever.
