Commentary‘s Jennifer Rubin asks “Why Jews Hate Palin” and then answers her own question:
As recent polling by Gallup amply demonstrates, Jews remain the most Democratic of any religious group (66 percent of Jews say they are Democrats or lean Democratic, compared with only 47 percent of Catholics, 43 percent of Protestants, and 20 percent of Mormons) and the most supportive of President Obama. Only African-Americans demonstrated a higher percentage of support (95 percent) for Obama’s candidacy and have remained comparably loyal. While there is a range of opinion within the Jewish community, as revealed by an AJC 2009 poll—which showed that majorities of Conservative and Reform Jews approved of the Obama administration’s handling of U.S.-Israel relations, while only 14 percent of Orthodox Jews did—only 16 percent of Jews now identify themselves as Republican.

Mark Sanford Will Have Lots of Free Time for Sexy Time Soon
Bad news for America’s most star-crossed governor, Mark Sanford of “flying to Argentina for sex” fame, whose impeachment will begin next week. (The Hill)- According to freshman Rep. Gregg Harper (R-MS), the purpose of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus is to hunt down Democrats, specifically by shooting them with guns. (Politico Click)
- Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) does not appreciate being called a penny-pinching Jew by two of his state’s GOP committeemen, even though they totally meant it as a compliment. (CNN Political Ticker)
- Apparently Democrats never realized that letting Republicans delay healthcare reform for as long as they felt like would make it more difficult to pass healthcare reform. (TPMDC)
- Refusing to let black men into a bar because of their baggy pants but then letting a white man who is wearing literally the same pair of pants in is pretty racist. (Student Life)

SC GOPers Defend DeMint for “Watching Our Nation’s Pennies” Like a Jew
Oh hi, here is your obligatory Racist Wingnut Email for the day. Except instead of being an email it is a guest column in a major newspaper from–where else–South Carolina, and instead of being racist it is anti-Semitic. Still, it’s more of the usual nonsense from the GOP.
Today we have two local Republican committeemen defending Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) for pinching pennies, much like we Jews do:
Recently your newspaper published a letter from state Rep. Bakari Sellers attacking U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint and his opposition to congressional earmarks.
There is a saying that the Jews who are wealthy got that way not by watching dollars, but instead by taking care of the pennies and the dollars taking care of themselves. By not using earmarks to fund projects for South Carolina and instead using actual bills, DeMint is watching our nation’s pennies and trying to preserve our country’s wealth and our economy’s viability to give all an opportunity to succeed.
Oy gevalt, South Carolina GOP committeemen! I guess I’m just impressed that they didn’t go straight from “Jews are greedy” to “Obama is Hitler” in the same op-ed.
