If Obama Wants Fewer Uninsured People, the GOP Wants More

- Control of the New York Senate switched from the Democrats to the Republicans thanks to two of the state’s most awesome Democratic Senators: one is under investigation by the state attorney general’s office, and the other was recently indicted for felony battery and domestic abuse charges. Sounds like a winning team! (New York Times)
- The national census is coming up in under a year and Senate Republicans have blocked President Obama’s nominee to head the census bureau because, um, “It is unclear why Republicans are blocking the vote.
