If You Want to Be a Judge, Lay Off the Burritos

Sonia Sotomayor, who is Puerto Rican, once said that she likes Puerto Rican food, and now some Republicans are using her diet as evidence that she hates white people, or something. Whaaaaaattt??? (The Hill)

In 2009, the GOP says Sonia Sotomayor is a racist for having the audacity to be Hispanic and want a seat on the Supreme Court. But in 2003, Republicans called Democrats racists for opposing President Bush’s nomination of Miguel Estrada to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, even though Estrada was also opposed by the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and several Latino interest groups. (Washington Monthly)
