Surprise! Maria Shriver Endorses Obama
Today’s rally for Barack Obama at UCLA had an incredible surprise celebrity guest. No, it wasn’t Michelle Obama, Oprah, Caroline Kennedy, or Stevie Wonder. All those people were on the schedule for the event. The surprise came when California first lady Maria Shriver–whose husband, Gov. Schwarzenegger (R), recently announced his endorsement of John McCain–strode onto the stage to offer an impromptu endorsement of Barack Obama.
A commenter on the Obama campaign’s official blog writes that all the major TV networks except for C-SPAN, none of whom knew that Shriver would be announcing an endorsement, cut to their pre-Super Bowl coverage before she even came on stage, so make sure to spread the word! With the California primary in just a couple days, this endorsement could make a huge difference.
And for those of you who are watching the Super Bowl, make sure to keep an eye out for this new ad:
